I'm always amazed by the innovation that comes when someone can take the best ideas and practices from different companies and combine them into something even better or more meaningful.

So, what would happen if you combined Digg, a news site where people can vote or "digg" a news story to the Front Page, Prosper, a website that allows you to lend out your own money at whatever interest rate you choose and the United Way?

You'd get DonorsChoose.org. A web-site for public school teachers to submit proposals for projects they'd like to undertake in their classrooms, price it out and allow philanthropists like your self to help fund them. More information can be found here.
